Remember that time when I was worried about how I'd make it through February financially. Yea, that time where I was completely stressed out looking at my extremely tight and probably unrealistic budget and still coming up short at the end of the month.
Well... since then,
- I asked my community group to support me in getting my passport for an upcoming mission trip I'm on. Soon after sending the message I got a text from one of the members saying "God was totally ahead of you! we just sold our car and was planning on giving you part of our tithe. Swing by and pick it up whenever!" Come to find out, the money was more than I needed.
- One of my bigger expenses this month was my Chicago Marathon registration. After I registered, I texted my mom and she replied "I'm going to pay for your registration." Sure enough a few days later I got a valentine card in the mail from her with more than what I needed.
- Then there is the Colorado vacation. The plane ticket was already paid for and the rental car was the cheapest you could ever imagine. I budgeted this in and it was going to be interesting to make it work, but I was determined to do it. However, the weekend before I was suppose to leave I started getting sick. Then I spent two days in bed coughing up a lung. Then I got an email from the family I was to stay with saying their youngest has the flu. That was enough, I decided I didn't want to go on vacation sick and just get sicker so I stayed home.
I pray that one of these days I stop this pattern and finally learn to fully rely and trust Jesus. I mean, He's only been teaching me this for the last 3 years; you'd think I'd learn by now!
